Give & Take: GIF Workshop

The GIF workshop was really helpful. I have made animations before but it was good to have a reminder. I also enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. In the past I was making 5 minute animations or more, which take a look of tedious drawing work! But I really learnt from the workshop that you can make a really successful GIF in a couple of frames.

The first task we completed was the bouncing balls and I animated one also (just for experimentation).

I then went on to attempt to animate my dead fly which I had been drawing for my ‘Draw Every Day’ task. I wanted to bring him back to life! I completed the below GIFs of him flying in a circle and his legs gyrating. I really spent a lot of time adjusting the speeds of the frames and realised quickly how much that can change the whole GIF.
